Copy Editing and Proofreading

Take all wor­ries away when it comes to your copy edit­ing and proof­read­ing needs. I’ll go over your mate­r­ial with a skep­ti­cal eye and if there are errors, I’ll find them for you.

Copy Edit­ing and Proof­read­ing Ser­vices Include:

• Spelling
• Gram­mar
• Cap­i­tal­iza­tion
• Punc­tu­a­tion
• Awk­ward phrasing
• Awk­ward flow of information

Copy edit­ing and proof­read­ing ser­vices start at $5 per page (up to 500 words); $10 per page (501–1,000) words. Pages over 1,000 words are billed at $10 incre­ments per addi­tional 1,000 words. (I.e., 1,600 word page is a cost of $20 for copy edit­ing services.)

Break down (per sin­gle article/blog post):

• Up to 500 word count = $5.00
• 501 – 1,000 word count = $10.00
• 1,001 – 2,000 word count = $20.00
• 2,001 – 3,000 word count = $30.00
• 3,001 – 4,000 word count = $40.00
• Each addi­tional 1,000 word count incre­ments add $10.00.

Addi­tional Information:

• MS Word is used for accu­rate word count guide.
• Pay­ment method is Pay­Pal or Post Office Money Order (Pay­Pal is pre­ferred – sorry no checks or credit cards at this time.)
• $50.00 retainer pay­ment required to ini­ti­ate contract.
• Con­trac­tual agree­ment signed by both parties.
• An updated finan­cial statement/invoice is sub­mit­ted to the client with each sub­mit­ted assign­ment. (Ask for a sam­ple.) There will never be a ques­tion of the pay­ment bal­ance and credit left toward future copy edit­ing work.

Other edit­ing projects receive cus­tom quotes.

Copy Edit­ing and Proof­read­ing Ser­vices Do Not Include:

• Fact verification.
• Con­tent rewriting.

Edit­ing ser­vices  include cor­rect­ing only the tech­ni­cal aspects of writ­ten mate­r­ial. If you need to have con­tent re-written, a quote can be pro­vided for copy writ­ing ser­vices. Mate­r­ial being re-written is researched to col­lect new infor­ma­tion to put a fresh spin on it.
